Buzzy Logic
This where I'll jot down anything that has an impact in our day to day lives be it global awareness or cricket, in my style of writing. Not too long, not too short but just right. And by the way credits and thanks to a few friends of mine who persisted me to do it.

Tackling a deadly oxide
I would not go far to explain the whole phenomenon itself. It can be found easily by using a lit bit of Google, I'm sure. One of my friends have even gone as far as writing a novel addressing its importance. However in this piece I'm only going to address, what you and me and the hoi-poloi's of our society can do to minimize our CO2 emissions and keep a check on the Carbon Footprint. The below related points is what most people do in every day lives. A little tweak in the way of living can lead to better and a cleaner environment
A major resource we use a lot is Electricity. The more we use it, the more coal we burn, as 80% of our electricity is derived from burning fossil fuels like coal. 1Kg of CO2 is released for every kW hr of power consumed. Here are a few things you could do, to not only save the environment but also cut down the costs.
In a country like ours, thats hot and humid we need Air conditioners almost all the time. But use timers, switch them off when not necessary and most importantly maintain an optimum temperature of 24 degree C.
Most of us leave our mobile phones in charge for ever. This not only eats electricity but also reduces battery life of the phone.
Try to harness solar energy. Its available in abundance in a country like ours. One can easily use them for heating water.
Using CFL lamps in place of incandescent lamps not only gives more brightness but also consumes only one-fifth the power.
The next resource is a basic building block in every ones lives – Water. It is very difficult to process potable water. One has to spend a lot of energy to make it potable. Hence wastage of water in turn means a lot of energy used to process it again for re-use. That means more CO2 released. A few points below can go a long way in your savings too.
More wastage of water means more energy wasted in pumping it to the over head tank, and also lowering of the water table.
13k liters of water is saved per day if all of us reduce our shower time and brushing time by 1 minute a day.
Keep any leaks in check. Even a small tap leak can waste gallons of water a day.
And always do rain water harvesting. They keep the water table from falling.
Now coming to waste disposal. If waste is not disposed properly, not only CO2 but also methane is emitted. Methane is a much more heat trapping gas, 10 times more so than CO2. And some of our plastics end up on streets as toxic non-biodegradable wastes that stay for hundreds of years. Some measures we can take to control this are
Try to use recycling in our every day lives. Use such products. Recycled paper can save more trees. And a single tree can use up up to 1 tonne of CO2 in its lifespan as a part of photosynthesis.
Help garbage disposals to be easily collected than to be dumped at random places and sprayed around every where. Easy Collection leads to lesser pain in recycling and processing.
Separate dry waste from wet waste. Dry waste can be sent for recycling and the wet waste can be used as compost.
Next issue I'm going to address is commuting and transport. There are around 14 billion cars on our roads today. And each one can contribute about 2kg of CO2 per year for every 1000 km of its running. So we have to take these measure to keep our emissions in check.
Try using Mass Transport Systems or resort to more carpooling.
Use Video conferencing instead of taking long distance flights, when ever possible.
Use a cleaner fuel like CNG, it has more efficient and cleaner emissions.
I would let you ponder over these points for now. I'll try to write more such thoughts in my subsequent blogs. Finally think about implementing these, because I've written this to provide more than just a good read.
Buzzy Logic: Blog Kick off
Here is to start a new beginning in my blog writing skills which never kicked on full time in terms of any full fledged articles, apart from my latest happenings blog which is only about me. Hence this new blog named Buzzy Logic! This is where I'll jot down anything that has an impact in our day to day lives be it global awareness or cricket, in my style of writing. Not too long, not too short but just right. And by the way credits and thanks to a few friends of mine who persisted me to do it.
